Job Description
SolShine Energy Alternatives is a full-service provider of electrical and solar electric (photovoltaic) contracting services for home and business in the New River Valley region of Virginia. We are looking for a full-time Office Manager to join our dedicated and growing team of clean energy professionals.

  • Responsible for the overall business management of the company
  • Work directly with the Owner to plan, organize, coordinate, and perform business activities
  • Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished on time
  • Responsible for general business administration including insurance renewals, business license renewals, etc.
  • Accounting duties include AR/AP, general bookkeeping, payroll, cash flow management, preparing deposits and expense tracking
  • Manages and maintains IT infrastructure; main point of contact for employee technical issues
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements; design and implement new systems
  • Serves as the primary intake and scheduling interface with clients
  • Performs most administrative duties in the office and ensure that office is operating smoothly
  • Primary HR point of contact; onboard new employees, answer questions, respond to requests, maintain HR files; assist in recruiting and hiring new employees
  • Ensure that the company has adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities (e.g. people, material, equipment etc.)
  • Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers and negotiate vendor contracts to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage budgets and forecasts


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in office management or business administration
  • Computer and mobile technology proficiency. (QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel preferred)
  • Strong interest in solar technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting
  • Excellent analytical skills, technical trade knowledge, business acumen, and attention to detail
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
  • Desire to continuously learn relevant new skills
  • Friendly, positive, supportive personality
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to self-start
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements

Pay Rate: $35,000 – 50,000 / year
